About the shop

A shop rooted in traditional Ayurveda

The Ayurveda Shop has grown from more than four decades of practical experience with Transcendental Meditation and Maharishi Ayurveda. Peter Brown qualified as a teacher of Transcendental Meditation in 1977, trained as a Maharishi Ayurveda technician in 1986 and helped establish the first Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre in the UK in 1987.

Today, the shop shares the Centre’s home in the Transcendental Meditation community in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. Peter works alongside Caroline Kerley, office manager and sales, and Jay Duckett, a trained Maharishi Ayurveda technician who also runs the Centre’s ladies’ treatment section.

This close relationship with the treatment centre helps us select products with care and maintain a range grounded in the living tradition of Ayurveda.
