Ayurvedic oral care with specific energetic & anti-microbial properties of silver
The Ayurdent Tongue Cleaner, Silver-Plated is a reusable oral-care tool designed to gently remove the coating and everyday debris that collect on the surface of the tongue. Used for only a few seconds each morning, it complements regular brushing and helps leave the mouth feeling cleaner and fresher.
Its smooth, curved design can be held securely with both hands, allowing controlled movement from the back of the tongue towards the tip. The silver-plated finish brings a refined quality to this traditional Ayurvedic cleansing practice.
Main benefits
- Natural Antimicrobial Action: Silver is widely recognised for its natural antibacterial properties, helping to neutralise oral bacteria and prevent sulphur compound buildup.
- Helps Prevent Bad Breath (Halitosis): Safely removes food debris, dead cells, and bacterial coating from the back of the tongue where toothbrushes cannot effectively reach.
- Clears Metabolic Waste (Ama): In Ayurveda, scraping removes the toxic film (Ama) that forms on the tongue overnight, stopping it from being re-absorbed into the digestive system.
- Refines Taste Perception: Cleaning off the bacterial coating frees taste receptors, allowing for more distinct flavour perception and supporting mindful digestion.
- Complements daily oral hygiene: Tongue cleaning adds an extra step to brushing and interdental cleaning by caring for an area that an ordinary toothbrush may not clean as effectively.
- Quick and convenient: Effective tongue cleaning takes only a few gentle strokes and can be incorporated easily into a morning or evening routine.
- Inspired by Ayurvedic dinacharya: Cleaning the tongue in the morning is a traditional part of the Ayurvedic daily self-care routine.
Benefits specific to silver plating
- Pitta-Cooling Properties: In Ayurvedic energetics, silver (Tara or Rajat) possesses cooling (Sheeta) properties. It is ideal for individuals with a dominant Pitta dosha or those prone to oral inflammation, mouth heat, or acidity.
- Gentle on Oral Tissue: The silver surface provides a smooth glide across the tongue, reducing friction and minimising irritation to sensitive papillae.
- Aesthetic & Durable Finish: Offers a premium appearance while maintaining structural rigidity, providing the hygiene of silver without the extreme soft-metal wear of solid silver.
