Kottamchukkadi Thailam for joint, muscle and mobility support
Kottamchukkadi Thailam is a classical Ayurvedic massage oil traditionally used to support comfortable joints, healthy muscles and freedom of movement. Prepared with warming herbs such as ginger, garlic, costus root, moringa bark and Himalayan cedar in a nourishing sesame oil base, this formulation is especially valued where Vata and Kapha imbalance contribute to stiffness and discomfort.
This traditional oil is widely used in Ayurvedic massage to help ease muscular tension, support joint mobility and promote healthy circulation. Its warming nature makes it particularly suitable for massage where the body feels stiff, heavy or restricted.
Main benefits
- Relieves Joint Pain & Stiffness: Reduces stiffness and discomfort associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (Amavata), cervical spondylosis, and sciatica.
- Reduces Swelling & Localised Inflammation: Herbal anti-inflammatory agents help clear fluid accumulation (Shotha) and tissue congestion around tender joints.
- Eases Muscle Sprains & Strains: Warming properties penetrate deep into muscle tissues, relaxing spasms, muscle tightness, and post-exercise sore spots.
- Improves Microcirculation: Clears blocked bodily channels (srotas), encouraging nutrient delivery to ligaments, tendons, and joint cartilage.
- Pacifies Nerve Pain & Numbness: Helps soothe radiating nerve discomfort and numbness commonly found in conditions like sciatica or entrapment neuropathies.
- Ideal before or after physical activity: Regular massage may help prepare the muscles before exercise or relax them afterwards.
- Excellent for daily Abhyanga: Suitable for regular Ayurvedic self-massage to help maintain flexibility and overall musculoskeletal health.
